Missio Dei

What this video says, for those that don't speak Spanish, summed up is that we may look up to people in church that may sing with a gorgeous voice, that may write words that speak to the soul, that may preach greatly. "We make of them heroes, our example, when really it is these people in the video that really are living the way Jesus did. It compels  us to ask ourselves, do I want/am I willing to be like these martyrs? Or do i want to be like the singer or the preacher at church?
These missionaries don't ask for anything, yet we can do much by remembering them in out prayers."

I want to pray today for them, because somehow God has called them to that. I mean, he probably didn't call you to live the life they're living, but you may be living in a battlefield at home, a battlefield at work, a battlefield at school. Maybe what's beating you down is not a man with a baseball bat, but it may be bullying, it may be unfair treatment at work, or just lack of resources.

But whatever your battle, may it be even worth comparing to the martyrdom and suffering of these men, God is very clear in his word when he promises: "For our light affliction, which is only but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) & "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18) ANY light affliction, any sufferings. Yes, even yours.

So whether you have decided to lean everything on Jesus and cling to the cross or just rely on your own strength, remember that just like new born babies, it is a human need to cry. Why do babies cry when they're born? Ask any doctor, they will simply say: Because they need to. All bible characters probably at some point of their christian walk (just like us) had to look up to the heavens and with shaking fists ask God the so famous; Why? And God worked accordingly.

Remember though, a very valuable lesson to learn, is that no answer is in fact an answer.

Ain't nothing like having the answers to something we aren't sure about in advance, like a scary final or an important game's final scores. But with life is different. You can't skip anything, and if you do, you ain't really living. Fall down ten times, get up eleven times.

Like I was saying, and this is the point of this first blog, most likely you will never experience the horrors that these men have to through, but know that if they could, they most likely would get up again. They know the true meaning of CARPE DIEM, which basically means SEIZE TODAY, because of their belief of a higher power, a true king that's coming back again to take us home.

So take that into account. We were called to do different things, different ways to communicate God's love. What ever you do though, seize the day.
